Document Description
The Port of Long Beach (Port) Chief Executive Officer executed Area Assignment AA 24-05 with WattEV LB2, Inc. for the use of approximately 62,3561 square feet of land on Port-owned property located both inside and outside of the Long Beach Harbor District for the parking of on-road heavy-duty trucks with loaded and/or unloaded containers on chassis and storage of chassis. It is estimated that up to 40 trucks per day would be accommodated at the site. The split between loaded and unloaded containers would be roughly 50/50. There would be no stacking of chassis onsite. It is estimated that less than 30 chassis would be parked onsite for operational use. No alterations or improvements shall be made to the premises. Area Assignment AA-24-05 will become effective upon execution by the Port and WattEV LB2, Inc., and shall expire on June 30, 2025 unless it is terminated by either party with ten days' written notice after the first 30 days.

The action involves executing Area Assignment AA-24-05 with WattEV LB2, Inc. granting use of approximately 62,351 square feet of land on Port-owned property located both inside and outside of the Long Beach Harbor District for the parking of roadsworthy trucks with loaded and/or unloaded containers on chassis and storage of chassis on premises previously used as a parking lot for vehicles.
The Port has determined that none of the exceptions to the exemptions in the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) Guidelines Section 15300.2 foreclose the use of the categorical exemptions CEQA Guidelines Section 15301 (Existing Facilities) and CEQA Guidelines Section 15304 (Minor Alterations to Land); therefore, the Project is exempt from CEQA and no further environmental review is required.

The action involves executing Area Assignment AA-24-05 with WattEV LB2, Inc. granting use of approximately 62,351 square feet of land on Port-owned property located both inside and outside of the Long Beach Harbor District for the parking of road-worthy trucks with loaded and/or unloaded containers on chassis and storage of chassis until the expiration date of June 30, 2025. Therefore, the action involves minor temporary use of land having negligible effects on the environment.
