Document Description
The Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) Project will replace approximately 65,000 of the City’s existing water meters with modern advanced meters. The new meters feature radio equipment and dataloggers, allowing the meters to be read remotely. Existing water meter covers will be replaced to accommodate the new meter’s radio equipment. To facilitate remotely reading the meters, support infrastructure such as antennas, radios, and telemetry equipment will be installed at locations throughout the City. This support infrastructure will typically be installed on existing City properties such as water tanks. The Project will provide improved water usage tracking and analytics.
