Document Description
The City of Redding proposes the replacement and installation of storm drain facilities at seven (7) locations. The existing box culverts will be replaced, and approximately 1,100 linear feet of high-density polyethylene (HDPE) storm drain piping will be replaced or extended. Work will involve vegetation removal, excavation, and paving. Traffic control and night work may be necessary for portions of the project. Work is located within City right of way (ROW) and within easement areas. The public will be notified of the project prior to construction.

Reasons for Exemption
Class 1 exemptions include the minor alteration of existing public structures and facilities. Class 2 exemptions consists of replacement or reconstruction where the new structure will be located on the same site and will have substantially the same purpose and capacity. The existing utilities will be replaced and extended to provide reliable service that meets public health and safety standards, and the project will result in a negligible expansion of use. There project area has been reviewed for sensitive resources such as wetlands, threatened or endangered species or their habitats, sensitive vegetation communities, cultural resources and hazardous waste sites. The project has no potential to have a significant effect on the environment.
