Greenville WYE TMS Improvements

The existing Transportation Management System (TMS) located at the Greenville WYE, the intersection of SR 70 and SR 89, is due for replacement. All assets/components will be brought up to current standards. The scope of work includes replacing the Highway Advisory Radio (HAR), Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) camera, and walkway including all supporting hardware (cabinets, conduits, conductors, etc.) New assets include a new Extinguishable Message Sign (EMS) to be installed on the westbound lane of Highway 70 at approximately PM 33.15, where a current Highway guide sign is located. The guide sign at PM 33.15 will be relocated to the opposite side of SR 70, eastbound lane. Boring will be required beneath SR 70 at each road crossing shown on accompanying layout sheets. For the rest of the conduit installation trenching will be utilized everywhere else within the work area. It is anticipated that the new conduit/infrastructure will be placed in approximately the same location as the old hardware including the old in ground conduit. All old assets will be abandoned in place. Work on the bridge at PM 33.07 over Indian Creek, Bridge No. 9-14, will include installing and hanging conduit off of the bridge from underneath. Purpose: Alert Westbound motorists near the Greenville Wye of adverse road conditions on State Routes 70 and 89 to allow motorists to take an alternate route and to facilitate accurate, timely, and reliable traveler information for the traveling public and TMC. Need: Transportation Management System (TMS) elements at the Greenville Wye have reached the end of their useful life, need an upgrade, and don't meet current standards.
