Notice of Exemption for proposed project to drive two 6-inch in diameter by 30-foot-long pilings to restrain existing floating dock structure. The floating dock structure begins at an existing seawall. The depth of the lakebed at seawall is approximately 6.3 ft Rumsey, and at lakeward extent of existing structure, lakebed depth is approximately -4.4 ft Rumsey. Lakebed has a slight to moderate lakeward slope. Construction will occur between October 15 to December 31. Tules are not present within or adjacent to the project area.

Reasons for Exemption
Pursuant to the California Code of Regulations, Title 14, Division 6, Chapter 3, Section 15303 Class 3 New Construction or Conversion of Small Structures, will be applied to the proposed project. The project will construct small new accessory structures that will include two 6-inch in diameter by 30-foot-long pilings to restrain existing floating dock structure. In addition, pursuant to the California Code of Regulations, Title 14, Division 6, Section 15300.2, the following conditions would apply to the project: the project would be temporary so there would be no cumulative impacts, there are no known unusual circumstances that would have a significant effect on the environment, according to the Caltrans List of Officially Designated County Scenic Highways, Lake County has no officially designated state highways, additionally, all work would occur within the existing disturbed footprint (there are no trees, rock outcroppings or historic buildings), the State’s Envorstor was checked and there are no hazardous waste sites within 1,000 feet of the project site, and lastly there is no known historical resources on the site. The Lake County Community Development Department has determined that the project will not have a significant effect on the environment and is, therefore, exempt from the provisions of CEQA.
