Reasons for Exemption
The Lake County Watershed Protection District proposes to repair existing County maintained levee patrol roads. There will be no expansion of maintenance activities outside of the existing disturbed footprint. The appropriate sediment control measures would be applied to ensure that no erosion or stormwater runoff occurs on the site. Pursuant to the California Code of Regulations, Title 14, Division 6, Section 15300.2, the following conditions would apply to the project: the project would be temporary so there would be no cumulative impacts, there are no known unusual circumstances that would have a significant effect on the environment, according to the Caltrans List of Officially Designated County Scenic Highways, Lake County has no officially designated state highways, additionally, all work would occur along the patrol roads only so no trees would be disturbed (there are no rock outcroppings or historic buildings), the State’s Envorstor was checked and there are no hazardous waste sites within 1,000 feet of the project sites, and lastly there is no known historical resources on the site.
