Document Description
The project involved constructing a rock revetment at the edge of a parking lot that had been severely damaged and undercut during the 2023 winter storms, eroding the road underlayment to approximately half the width of the entrance. An approximately 25-foot long rock revetment was built to protect the parking lot. The construction involved placing approximately 1500 tons of armor rock, 615 tons of underlayer rock, and 16,000 sq ft of geotextile fabric along the southern approximately 190 linear ft. fronting the Cardiff Reef Lot. The work included approximately 1,700 cubic yards of excavation and backfill of beach sand and cobbles of excavation and backfill of beach sand and cobble. The eroded road bed was restored and approximately 3,500 sq. ft. of parking lot was repaved. To repair damage caused by the storms, the entire parking lot (approximately 65,000 sq. ft.) was sealed and re-striped per existing layout.
