Document Description
California Department of Fish and Wildlife (CDFW) will continue to maintain the 2 acre fuel break along the property border of the Reserve along Meadowbrook Ln and behind the adjacent apartments. This is a 50 feet wide fuel break that CDFW maintains to help protect the nearby school and the neighboring private property. This border is kept clear of vegetation to prevent a fire for passing between the properties. In addition to the fuel break by Meadowbrook Ln, CDFW will maintain a clearness of vegetation 30 feet from the house at the end of Leona Ln (~0.2 acres). Mechanical and chemical methods will be used to continually maintain the vegetation within the fuel breaks.
