Document Description
California Department of Fish and Wildlife (CDFW) will continue to maintain the 0.5 acre fuel break along the property border of the Reserve and the Estates. This is a 50 feet wide fuel break that the California Department of Transportation started to maintain under their ownership and CDFW continued to maintain under our management. This border is cleared of vegetation to prevent a fire from passing between the properties. In addition to the fuel break by the Estates, CDFW will maintain a cleared 6-feet buffer along Douglas Road and removal of all the nonnative flash fuels up to the tree line (~3.5 acres). Mechanical and chemical methods will be used to continually maintain the vegetation within the firebreaks.
