Document Description
The project proposes to construct a bicycle and pedestrian underpass to connect North and South Bernardo Avenue under the Caltrain railroad tracks and Central Expressway. The proposed undercrossing would be located approximately 300 feet east of Bernardo Avenue. The undercrossing would span approximately 235 feet from the north side of Evelyn Avenue to the north side of Central Expressway. In addition to the undercrossing, the project also proposes bicycle and pedestrian improvements to the Bernardo Avenue intersections (e.g., installing high visibility pedestrian crossings and eliminating slip lanes) and the minor realignment of Central Expressway and Evelyn Avenue to accommodate the project. All improvements would be located within existing public right-of-way.
