Reasons for Exemption
The project has been determined to be categorically exempt from the provisions of the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) pursuant to CEQA Guidelines Section 15303 (New Construction or Conversion of Small Structures) of Title 14 of the California Code of Regulations. CEQA Guidelines Section 15303 applies to projects that consist of (1) a limited number of new, small facilities or structures; and (2) the installation of small new equipment and facilities in small structures, both of which the State has determined to be a class of projects that will not have a significant effect on the environment. For non-residential uses, this exemption is generally limited to structures that do not exceed 2500 square feet in floor area.
