Document Description
The proposal project is to install a large capacity battery energy storage system (BESS) to store excess energy generated by the solar panel system at the Community Center. The purpose of the project is to allow the City to purchase and store electricity when it is cheapest and demand on the grid is at its lowest. The BESS would have a storage capacity of 358 kilowatt hours (kWh) and it would be installed in an electrical closet in the underground parking garage of the Community Center. Beneficiaries of the project would include users of the Community Center and the community at large (during power outages).
