Document Description
The applicant proposes to expand the herd size, construct accessory structures at an existing dairy facility (Lone Oak Dairy) and adds additional farmland to be associated with the dairy located at 4004 Idaho Ave, Assessor’s Parcel Number 016-240-010. The proposed expansion proposes to construct one (1) freestall barn (2,200' x 105'), one (1) special need maternity shade structure (530' x 85'), one (1) animal shade structure (2,200' x 20') to be located within an existing corral, and two (2) animal shade structures (1,100' x 20') in existing open corrals. The facility, including the corrals, feed storage area, manure management area, process water storage, equipment parking area and other associated facilities will all be located within the existing footprint of the existing dairy. Approximately 2,005 farmable acres will be in irrigated cropland primarily double cropped wheat and corn. The applicant is proposing a Holstein herd size of 8,000 milk cows, 960 dry cows, 2,250 heifers (1 year to breeding), 2,750 calves (3mo to 1 yr) and 3,000 baby calves (< 3 mo) for a total of 16,960 cows in Freestalls, Flushed Corrals and Scrapped Corrals which equates to 16,804 animal units (AU).
