Document Description
This project involves demolishing and disposing of the existing wooden pedestrian bridge, including the electrical conduit and wires at the designated bone yard area. It will be replaced with a prefabricated steel structure bridge, and construction of bridge abutments and a 6-foot ADA concrete ramp will be done at both ends of the new pedestrian bridge. Additionally, a new light post with a new electrical conduit and wiring system will be provided and installed. The project also includes the installation of a new “School Bridge” sign, and the surrounding area of the newly installed pedestrian bridge will be cleaned and trimmed.

Section 15302 (b), Class 2, Replacement or Reconstruction. The Class 2 exemption allows for the replacement or reconstruction of existing structures and facilities where the new structure will be located on the same site as the structure replaced and will have substantially the same purpose and capacity as the structure replaced. The existing wood bridge will be demolished, disposed of, and replaced with a new steel structure bridge. This Project is categorically exempt from CEQA review according to Section 15302(b) and will not significantly affect the environment.
