Document Description
The Department of Cannabis Control, pursuant to authority granted under Business and Procession Code, Section 26012, approved a commercial cannabis processor license submitted by Sonoma’s Finest. The project is located on a 5.21-acre parcel zoned Industrial Park (MP), with General Plan land use Limited Industrial (LI), and Specific Plan land use Industrial Park, which allows commercial cannabis cultivation (up to 22,000 square feet of cultivation area), distribution, and transportation operations with a minor use permit. The project will include 18,000 square feet of cultivation, distribution, and transportation operations within an existing industrial building surrounded by other industrial uses and undeveloped industrial land. Proposed indoor cultivation and processing operations will occur 24 hours per day, as needed. Deliveries and shipping/distribution operations will be limited to the hours of 8:00 am to 5:00 pm Monday through Friday. The operation will employ up to 100 employees, and have a maximum of 80 employees on-site at one time during peak harvest and processing periods. The typical number of daily onsite employees will be 50.

Reasons for Exemption
The Department of Cannabis Control has determined that the project is a Class 1 Categorical Exemption project. Class 1 Categorical Exemptions consist of the operation, repair, maintenance, permitting, leasing, licensing, or minor alterations to existing public or private structures, facilities, mechanical equipment, or topographical features, involving negligible or no expansion of use beyond that existing at the time of the lead agency’s determination. None of the exceptions to this exemption defined in Section 15300.2 apply.
