Document Description
The County of Fresno's Department of Public Works and Planning (County) proposes to reconstruct the intersection at Auberry Road and Frazier Road near Auberry, CA (Project). In general, the scope of work includes: improving the horizontal alignment by flattening the curve to increase sight distance; installing right-turn and left turn-pockets on Auberry Road at the intersection; installing a painted median; widening the existing shoulders; and removing the existing drainage system and installing a new drainage system. The new roadway will include asphalt concrete placed over aggregate base over compacted native soil. The shoulder cross slope will be paved and graded to match the adjacent pavement cross slope. Shoulder backing will match the existing ground slope. Approximately 20 feet of excavation depth is anticipated. Some trees will need to be removed from the existing road right-of-way; the exact number will be finalized as the design progresses. Clearing and grubbing miscellaneous, low-lying vegetation will also be necessary. Right-of-way acquisition from one adjacent property owner is anticipated. The County will coordinate with the property owner to ensure that access to their property is maintained. The project is consistent with the County of Fresno's General Plan and the Fresno Council of Government's Regional Transportation Plan. Public controversy is not anticipated. Construction is anticipated to occur in 2026.
