Document Description
This project is located on southbound (SB) Interstate 680 (I-680), in Alameda County, in Fremont from 0.2 miles north of Scott Creek Road Undercrossing (UC) to 1.4 miles south of Mission Boulevard UC, post mile (PM) M0.33 to PM M1.00. The purpose of this project is to improve traffic safety by reducing the number of vehicles that leave the paved roadway of Alameda I-680 and subsequently the number of wet collision accidents. This project is needed because twenty-two accidents due to wet collisions have occurred between January 2017 and December 2019, greatly exceeding the statewide average accident rate, and additionally bring the bridge structures within the project limits up to current federal standards.
