Document Description
This project is on State Route 99, near Bakersfield from post miles 29.4 to 33.1. The project proposes to remove 0.10 feet of the existing asphalt pavement and replace it with 0.10 feet rubberized hot mix asphalt (HMA) open graded. The project will include specific locations of cold planing to a depth of 0.30 feet and replace with 0.30 feet of HMA. Additional work includes:
• applying a fog seal over the shoulders
• removing and installing signs on existing posts
• placing shoulder backing
• installing rumble strips
• installing electrical loops
• replacing existing distressed PCC panels within the lanes
Existing striping and markings will be removed as a part of the cold plane operations. All work is anticipated to take place within the existing Caltrans right of way.
