Reasons for Exemption
The project consists of a permit modification to allow for acceptance of cogeneration ash for disposal at the Highway 59 Landfill in Merced County. There would be no expansion to existing facilities associated with this project. Special handling procedures would be established and /or pre-notification requirements, consistent with WDR Order No. R5-2014-0139 and SWFP No. 24-AA-0001, would be conducted prior to acceptance of cogeneration ash at the landfill. This project would not result in a cumulative impact, significant effect, damage to a scenic resource, or changes to the significance of a historical resources, and would not be located on a site listed pursuance to Section 65962.5 (Cortese List). Thus, no exceptions to this exemption would be triggered.
