Document Description
The California Department of Fish and Wildlife has executed Lake and Streambed Alteration Agreement EPIMS Notification No. EPIMS-RIV-48304-R6, pursuant to Section 1602 of the Fish and Game Code to SFPP, L.P.
The Project is limited to impacts to streambed to repair two pipeline segments that were exposed due to scouring flows resulting from significant storm events in 2023. The Project involves the use of jack and bore methods to install a new section of pipe in this location just north of the existing exposed pipeline. Jack and bore pipe installation begins with excavation of launching and receiving pits, and a specialized auger is used to drill from the launching pit toward the receiving pit. As the bore progresses, the pipe will be systematically jacked into place and located approximately 20 feet underground. The new pipe sections will then be connected to existing pipe on either side of the channel, and sections of the existing pipe that are currently exposed will be excavated and removed from the respective channels. In the unlikely event excavation encounters groundwater, the excavation area will be dewatered using small sump pumps to pump the water from the open excavation, away from the excavation, into filtration socks, then discharged to upland vegetation for additional filtration away from any open water or wetlands.
