Document Description
The Alameda County Flood Control and Water Conservation District (District) proposes to rehabilitate two damaged sections of the concrete channel slope embankments of San Lorenzo Creek, located on the south bank behind 1657 Via Hermana in San Lorenzo and on the north bank behind 1458 Vining Drive in San Leandro. The project involves saw cutting, removing, and disposing of two 5-foot-wide by 40.4-foot-long by 8-inch-thick sections of the damaged reinforced concrete slope embankment, including the segment that extends under the concrete channel bottom. A total of approximately 16 cubic yards of the concrete slope embankments would be removed and reconstructed in-kind. Existing backfill beneath the concrete slabs would remain and be compacted. A total of approximately 42 cubic yards of soil beneath the channel bottom would be excavated, salvaged, and reused. The project would also repair an approximately 13-foot expansion joint between two vertical concrete wall panels behind 960 Kramer Street with mastic joint filler. The purpose of the project is to repair damaged concrete embankment slopes to prevent further deterioration and extend the service life of the District’s flood control facilities.
