Document Description
The applicant is proposing to construct, operate, and decommission a utility-scale Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) to be located at 6529 Grangeville Blvd., Hanford, Assessor’s Parcel Number 014-260-036. The proposed BESS will be rated as a 110-megawatt (MW) 4-hour system (440 MW-hours). Up to 120 containerized lithium-ion units will be initially installed. The BESS will be connected to the SoCal Edison Mascot Substation via a 1-mile gen-tie line along the south shoulder of Grangeville Blvd. Additionally, an application for Tentative Parcel Map No. 23-01 was submitted in conjunction with Conditional Use Permit No. 23-06 to divide 148.485 net acres into two (2) parcels (138.485 acres and 10.000 acres).
