Document Description
The Department of Cannabis Control, pursuant to authority granted under Business and Profession Code, Division 10, Chapter 2, Section 26012, approved a Small Outdoor commercial cannabis license. The project is an existing cannabis cultivation operation located at 653 Nelson Road (APN 017-450-15-00) in Hayfork, Trinity County. The project is on a 13.12-acre parcel zoned as Agriculture. The garden consists of an existing +/- 8200 square foot (sf) cultivation area with plants grown in 5 ft x 5 ft wooden garden boxes. Immature plants (120 sf) are grown in a 10 ft x 20 ft area, and 8 ft x 10 ft area and an 8 ft x 12 ft area. Additional existing facilities include an 1800 sf compost area, 195 sf processing shed, 96 sf harvest storage shed and a 180 sf agricultural chemical storage shed. Water for this project is provided by an existing groundwater well. There is a 2,500 gallon water storage tank on site and a permitted septic system facilitates waste water disposal.

Reasons for Exemption
The Department of Cannabis Control has determined that the project is consistent with the local jurisdiction community plan and/or zoning designations. CEQA mandates that the project is consistent with the development density established by existing zoning, community plan, or general plan policies for which an EIR was certified and shall not require additional environmental review, except as might be necessary to examine whether there are project-specific significant effects which are peculiar to the project or its site. The project activity fits within the parameters included in CEQA Guidelines Section 15183 and the activity does not require additional CEQA analysis.
