Document Description
Revision of Approved Action application for an existing Quarry Excavation permit to amend Conditions of Approval 1.a and 1.q to extend the ultimate timeline of the project from 18 years to 33 years. The project includes the removal of approximately 1 million cubic yards of rock, sand, and gravel in 3 phases. This application request would extend the life of the quarry permit an additional 15 years, with final reclamation to be completed by December 31, 2038. No increase in tonnage, phasing, or changes to the final reclamation are proposed with this application. All other Conditions of Approval will remain the same. This project is exempt from the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) per CEQA Guidelines section 15061 (b)(3). Section 15061 (b)(3) states that "CEQA applies only to projects which have the potential for causing a significant effect on the environment. Where it can be seen with certainty that there is no possibility that the activity in question may have a significant effect on the environment, the activity is not subject to CEQA." There is no possibility that this project may have a significant effect on the environment and, therefore, the project is not subject to CEQA.
