Document Description
The proposed project would stabilize a slope on the west side of the IGPP 2000 - Revelle Laboratory building at SIO by installing a concrete retaining wall. The retaining wall would be constructed of vertical concrete-encased soldier beam piles and the wall face would be vertical board finish to match the existing retaining walls. The retaining wall would be approximately 160 feet long, with varying height from 6 feet on the northernmost end and 15 feet on the southernmost end with 42 inch railings on top to serve as fall protection for maintenance workers. Scope of work includes installation of a rock drainage swale behind the retaining wall to collect, control and divert surface runoff to the storm drain system. Overall, the project design would improve stormwater management on the site, reduce runoff, and stabilize the slope.
