Document Description
Department of Water Resources Delta Field Division will utilize the Contractor NMI Industrial to perform galvanic anode installation on South Bay Aqueduct Checks 1, 5, and 6. Installation will include using a stud welder to attach threaded studs to the gates in multiple locations. The anodes will be bolted onto newly installed studs. Access will be via existing aqueduct roads. Staging will be on existing aqueduct roads and turnouts. All work will be done within DWR right-of-way.

The State Water Project provides significant and critical services to many Californians. This project is exempt because it involves maintenance activities to prevent further corrosion damage to SWP facilities. This project will not result in impacts to special status species or habitat. The Categorical Exemption Class 1 will be used for CEQA compliance as this activity will be implemented without any environmental impacts.
