Notice of Exemption
Exempt Status
Categorical Exemption
Type, Section or Code
14 Cal. Code Regs. (State CEQA Guidelines), sections 15303, 15332
Reasons for Exemption
The project is categorically exempt pursuant to Section 15303 of the State CEQA Guidelines because the project consists of a limited number of new, small facilities or structures and the installation of small equipment and facilities in small structures. The proposed new tower and associated equipment enclosures are structures that do not involve significant amounts of hazardous substances and do not exceed a combined 2,500 square feet in floor area, as the project only includes an approximately 25 foot by 25 foot ground area for the new tower, comprising 625 square feet of floor area.
The project is categorically exempt pursuant to Section 15332 of the State CEQA Guidelines because the project is consistent with the applicable general plan designation and all applicable general plan policies, as well as with applicable zoning designation and regulations; the project site is less than 5 acres within city limits and surrounded by urban uses; there is no known habitat on the project site for sensitive species; the project will not result in any significant effects relating to traffic, noise, air quality, or water quality; and the site can be adequately served by all utilities and public services.
The administrative record documents provide that none of the exceptions to the categorical exemptions applies.
