Document Description
The City applied for and was successful in obtaining a grant for the “Pathways to a Greener Arvin-One Step at a Time” in 2018. The revised Urban Greening Phase I removes portion of the project from 4th Street and expands the size of the pocket park as well as creates additional 8’-0” wide tree-lined permeable walkway/bikeway with solar lighting that is located north of 4th Street and parallels the east side of Walnut Drive.

Reasons for Exemption
The Urban Greening Phase I project is consistent with the General Plan designation and policies as well as applicable zoning designation and regulations. The project is withing the City Limits of Arvin and is less than five (5) acres. The project site has no value as habitat for endangered, rare or threatened species. The approval of the Phase I Urban Greening expansion of the pocket park will not result in any significant effects relating to traffic, noise, air quality, or water quality. The site can be adequately served by all required utilities and public services.
