Document Description
Replace two aeration basins to ensure safe and reliable treatment (existing basins are at risk of failure from a seismic event). Modify the third aeration basin to convert to a true MLE configuration with a swing zone for improved operation. Replace three of the existing aeration blowers with one digester gas fueled blower for emergency savings and a single dual core electric blower for redundancy. A dual use discharge connection (with a new Septage Receiving Drain Pump Station) will be installed to allow the screened and de-gritted septage to continue to flow by gravity to the headworks for treatment with the influent wastewater while also allowing the cleaned septage to be conveyed directly to the anaerobic digesters to mitigate adverse impacts on the secondary treatment process. Further, a new backup Septage Receiving Station (with screen and aerated grit chamber) will be installed to allow for maintenance of the stations and continue to receive septage from the community. The existing Storm Debris Receiving Station will include a new dewatering dumpster and modifications to the surrounding access pad, to reduce the manual labor required to dewater and treat the collection system debris that is brought to the WWTF during routine maintenance procedures. Recoat the UV channels since the current coating system has begin to fail.
