Document Description
Sonoma County Regional Parks will grant a non-exclusive easement to PG & E for the purpose of replacing the overhead powerlines burned in the 2020 Glass Fire with underground lines to restore service to 8050 Pythian Road. The easement will be a 10-foot-wide path along the original power line alignment. The granting of the easement and installation of underground power lines will not interfere with current or future park facilities. Granting the easement is an administrative step necessary to the installation of the power lines, and has no other purpose, Sonoma County Regional Parks considers the undergrounding of the power lines on the existing alignment as the whole of the project to be assessed under CEQA.

Reasons for Exemption
This project is categorically exempt from the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) under Section 15302(d) of Title 14, Division 6, Chapter 3 of the California Code of Regulations (conversion of overhead electric utility distribution system facilities underground) because the new power lines will be located on the same site as the original overhead lines being replaced and will have substantially the same purpose and capacity.
