Document Description
The California Department of Fish and Wildlife has executed Lake and Streambed Alteration Agreement EPIMS Notification No. EPIMS-MAN-46109-R3, pursuant to Section 1602 of the Fish and Game Code to Marin Water.
The Project is limited to the addition of large wood, boulders, and gravel to Lagunitas Creek. Approximately 156 pieces of large wood will be added as part of a series of Riffle-Pool-Wood structures at 8 separate sites along the creek, with each site ranging from 190 to 640 feet in length, and will be installed in a configuration that increases trapping, sorting, and storage of gravel. Additionally, across the 8 sites a total of 5900 tons of gravel will be added into creek, suitable in size for Coho salmon and steelhead spawning, and will address a bedload deficit caused by upstream impoundments.
This major amendment includes reducing restrictions on refueling distance buffers due to physical limitations, reducing Northern spotted owl construction restrictions, and adding flexible language to various measures to provide future ability to potentially modify measures without needing an agreement.
