Document Description
NID plans to repair damaged areas of the upstream lining of the Bowman North Dam that has resulted from exposure to freeze-thaw cycles during periods of low reservoir levels. Repairs of the lining are necessary to prevent water from leaking through the rockfill dam, protect the structure from failure, and maintain the facility in service. The work will be conducted over a multi-year period during the dry season between approximately June and October as weather permits, lake levels recede, and the upstream lining is exposed and dry. Maintaining the dam ensures ongoing safety of the facility for the prevention of downstream flooding and safety risk for residents, recreators, towns, and bridge crossings.
