Exempt Status
Categorical Exemption
Type, Section or Code
Common Sense Exemption, CEQA Guidelines §15061 (b) (3)
Reasons for Exemption
Pursuant to the authority and criteria contained in the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) of 1970, as amended, and the City of Irwindale environmental guidelines, the Project has been determined to qualify for a general rule exemption pursuant to CEQA Section 15061(b)(3) in that it can be seen with certainty that there is no possibility that the General Plan Amendment, by itself, will have a significant effect on the environment. However, any proposed physical development will undergo its own CEQA review when the entitlement is considered.
