Document Description
The project is limited to bank stabilization including biotechnical boulder-anchored wood structures with planted
willow (Salix sp.) stakes and other native riparian trees planted within the structure. Angular riprap will be added at
the center of the structure and will also be planted with willow stakes. The total length of the bank stabilization is
approximately 45 linear feet and will occupy approximately 340 square feet. The project will result in approximately
340 square feet of temporary impact to the riparian habitat from the construction of the structure and an additional
120 square feet of temporary impact from the need for rock fill to ensure safe access. The fill for access will be
removed and the area restored when work has completed. Restoration plantings of the temporary impact areas is
included in the design plans (Exhibit A). All work will be performed during the dry season when no or minimal water
is present in Sonoma Creek. No in-water work will be conducted. No trees are to be removed as a part of the
project. The work will be completed in a manner that minimizes erosion and does not negatively affect water quality.
Erosion control measures such as fiber rolls and seeding and strawing of disturbed areas will prevent erosion.
