Document Description
The El Dorado Irrigation District (District) proposes to upgrade communication equipment at existing wastewater lift stations throughout its service area. The District maintains 60 wastewater lift stations that have varying genres of on-site programming that automatically operate equipment at the lift stations and relay information to telemetry equipment, providing staff the ability to remotely view alarms, statuses, and data trends at each of the stations. The work involves upgrades to the Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) system and the Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) that together manage control signals and telemetry at the lift stations. New equipment includes converters, radios, coax cables, antennas, and other miscellaneous parts. The new equipment will be operated in tandem with the existing equipment, which will allow work at individual sites to be completed without disrupting ongoing operations. District crews will install the new equipment with support from a consultant to assist with hardware integration. All construction activities will occur within the existing facilities and involve no new ground disturbing activities.
