Document Description
The goal of this project is to increase riparian habitat, pollinator habitat and overwintering forage, sequester carbon, windbreak functionality, and engage the local community in conservation practices and restoration science. This 1.77-acre project would include the establishment of two separate planting areas. The first is a
1.3-acre plot consisting of a riparian forest buffer that transitions into native chapparal habitat. The second is a 700-ft hedgerow following the southern property boundary. This project will enhance wildlife habitat connectivity for a diversity of birds, mammals, amphibians, and other wildlife. This project aims to transition large areas of traditional bovine forage (non native grasses) to pollinator forage by establishment of native
trees, shrubs, perennial forbs and grasses that provide pollen and nectar sources for a variety of pollinators.
