Document Description
The lmperial County Department of Public Works has been awarded preliminary engineering funds for the development of a Local Roadway Safety Plan (LRSP} for Imperial County. The LRSP will focus on identifying opportunities to improve traffic safety on roadways that support and enhance the finding of
the Imperial County Systemic Safety Analysis Report with a focus on the Safe Systems approach that uses each of the four E's of safety: Engineering, Enforcement, Education and Emergency Services. The LRSP will analyze collision data throughout Imperial County roads and provide a framework to systemically identify and analyze safety problems and recommend safety improvements.

The project is exempt as the proposed project consists of basic data collection, research, experimental management, and resource evaluation acttv1ties which do not result in a serious or major disturbance to an environmental resource. These may be strictly for information gathering purposes, or as part of a study leading to an action which a public agency has not yet approved, adopted, or funded. The project
will be a planning document that has no potential environmental impact. Each project, that will one day be a result of this Plan, will have its own potential environmental factor and will need individual CEQA review at that time.
