Document Description
Request for a Use Permit for a Mining and Reclamation Plan that expands the area covered by the Reclamation Plan from roughly 23 acres to 48.5 acres and allows for the removal of 4.56 million tons of rock material over a 20 year period, all within the area of vested rights. Requested operation levels are consistent with vested rights with a maximum 90,000 cubic yards (135,000 tons) of mining per year. No increase in annual mining rates is requested. In addition, this application also requests a revision to the existing Use Permit that allows the existing quarry floor to be used for contractor’s heavy equipment storage. The existing permit authorizes storage of 50 pieces of equipment and trucks including maintenance and repair. The revised authorization would limit contractor’s storage to the area of the existing 8.5 acre quarry floor and allow for storage of heavy equipment as well as other non-hazardous contractor supplies. No structures for equipment storage are proposed. Consistent with current operations, the site would have up to 10 employees and normal hours of operation from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday – Friday and Saturday form 6 a.m. to 4:30 p.m
