Document Description
The proposed project entails installation of one 450 gal tank and one 350 gal tank connected together as an aboveground fuel system at each of the 5 County airports for retail dispensation of unleaded aviation gasoline. The floor area of each fuel system is 40 sq-ft. Aboveground fuel system provides safer storage compared to underground tanks. It also reduces risks like soil and groundwater contamination in the event of leaks or spills by containing spills and facilitating remediation more readily, thus more environmental friendly.

Reasons for Exemption
The project, to install aboveground fuel systems at five (5) County airports for retail dispensation of unleaded aviation gasoline, is within a class of projects that have been determined not to have a significant effect on the environment and which meets the criteria set forth in Section 15303 (e) of the State CEQA Guidelines, and Class 1 (l), Class 3 (b) of the County's Environmental Document Reporting Procedures and Guidelines, Appendix G. In addition, based on the proposed project records, it will comply with all applicable regulations, and there are no cumulative impacts, unusual circumstances, damage to scenic highways, listing on hazardous waste site lists compiled pursuant to Government Code Section 65962.5, or indications that it may cause a substantial adverse change in the significance of a historical resource that would make the exemption inapplicable.
