Document Description
Conduct trail improvements to the existing North South Connector Trail at Washoe Meadows State Park to reduce erosion, improve water quality and meadow health, and improve useability. Crews will use hand tools to install 400-ft of paver stones and install one (1) 20-ft puncheon/boardwalk and one (1) 40-ft puncheon/boardwalk. Work will: For Paver Installation • Use a mini excavator to dig a 12-in. deep, 18-in. wide by 400-ft long trench; • Backfill trench with 2-in. of crushed rock, leaving approx. 4-in. to allow pavers to sit at grade; • Install pavers end to end and backfill paver edges with native soil and sod from excavation; and • Fill voids inside the pavers with native soil and sand. For Puncheon/Boardwalk Installation • At two (2) locations, construct rock lined approaches, no longer than 6-ft in length, at each end; • Place Diamond piers in pairs approx. 8-ft apart and place 4-ft x 6-ft headers and 8-ft stringers; and • Secure decking to the stringers and bull rail.
