Document Description
Replacement of an existing 190’ x 5’ pier and 10’ x 25’ sitting area on wooden pilings, with a new pier and sitting area on steel pilings in the same footprint. The pilings will be removed via crane. Difficult to remove pilings may be cut off at ground level by means of an underwater hydraulic saw, using vegetable oil as hydraulic oil as well as chain lubricant. Sixteen (16) 8” pilings will be driven into the lakebed using a free fall hammer method. The new pier will be composed of steel with reinforced plastic composite grated decking. All handrails will be made of 2” x 3” box tubing, and all posts composed of 2” x 2” box tubing, using a 1/8” cable rail horizontally, 4” on center. The project will occur over an eight (8) week period between October 15th and January 15th. All materials will be transported by boat or by trailer.
