Document Description
The California Department of Fish and Wildlife (CDFW) has executed
Streambed Alteration Agreement EPIMS Notification Number PLA-57271-R2, pursuant to
section 1602 of the Fish and Game Code to the project Applicant, California Department of
Transportation, as represented by Sean Shaw.
The project includes the replacement of 14 existing, damaged culverts. The project is part of a
larger capital maintenance project along I-80 that involves extending the lane separation taper at
the Route 174/80 Separation off ramp and eastbound truck climbing lane at the Long Ravine
Bridge with restriping and painting. Culvert work will consist of upsizing 18-inch culverts with 24-
inch reinforced concrete pipe (RCP) culverts and in-kind replacement of 24-inch culverts. Rock
slope protection (RSP), flared end sections, and inlets will also be replaced and/or installed.
Trimming and clearing of vegetation including shrubby and woody plants within riparian habitat
will be performed at each proposed site as necessary. No mature riparian trees will be removed.
Dewatering by temporary clear water diversion will be required at multiple locations prior to any
in-channel work if there is flowing or standing water. This is to advise that CDFW, acting as a
Responsible Agency, executed the above-described Lake and Streambed Alteration Agreement
on the date signed below and has made the following determinations regarding the project
pursuant to California Code of Regulations section 15096, subdivision (i):
