Document Description
The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) proposes to conduct a geotechnical investigation to evaluate subsurface conditions for the Alta CAPM Project on Interstate 80 (I-80) in Placer County. The scope of geotechnical work includes trenchless replacement of two 24-inch diameter Reinforced Concrete Pipe (RCP) culverts at PMs 41.65 and 41.75 respectively, replacement of a poor condition Close Circuit Television (CCTV) at PM 42.9, replacement of one outdated traffic monitoring station at PM 36.4 with High Mast (HM) CCTV and Microwave Vehicle Detection System (MVDS), replacement of two overhead sign (OHS) structures at PMs 41.69 and 41.9 respectively, replacement of one lightweight sign structure at PM 33.75 WB with new Extinguishable Message Sign (EMS) and replacement of one poor condition Changeable Message Sign (CMS) at PM 42.53. All Geotech work including drilling, equipment staging, etc., would occur within the pavement and/or the shoulder of I-80 (see continuation page).
