Document Description
This Project proposes to re-vegetate previously disturbed land with native vegetation. Up to 6,500 willow stakes and cottonwoods will be installed across six acres to enhance the riparian ecosystem. Willows (and some cottonwoods) are appropriate for this ecosystem because they will provide nesting and foraging habitat for wildlife and cultural benefits to the Kumeyaay Bands. This project will recruit and engage community volunteers by providing training and education about the San Diego River and its native habitat.
