Document Description
The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) proposes a project to remove and replace existing concrete fencing with metal fencing (rails and posts) at two Vista Point locations along State Route 120 in Tuolumne County, near Chinese Camp and Mocassin. The project footprint will be restricted to within Caltrans right-of-way, eliminating any need for construction-related activities outside these designated boundaries. The purpose of this project is to improve safety for motorists visiting the Vista Points along SR 120. The need for this project due to concrete fencing may not meet current safety standards. Metal fencing could be designed to meet current safety requirements for pedestrian barriers along roadways.
