Document Description
The proposed project includes sand replenishment of 20,000 cubic yards (CY) of clean and compatible sand material from the Santa Ana River to be placed along a 550 linear foot section (approximately 1.4-acre area) in the north reach of Capistrano Beach County Park in the City of Dana Point. The sand placement will occur above the mean high tide line with limited placement of 3,000 CY below the mean high tide line. A front-end loader will be used to spread the sand material over the footprint of the north reach and existing sand. Imported sand will be placed as a layer over the existing sand along the back beach with a 5:1 slope headed down to the water. The project is estimated to require approximately 1,300 truck trips (15-20 CY per trip) with sand replenishment anticipated to occur within 6 weeks in Summer 2024.
