Document Description
The Alameda County Public Works Agency proposes to repair the easterly roadway shoulder of Collier Canyon Road at Mile Marker 3.66, north of Livermore, in Unincorporated Alameda County. The proposed project involves replacing the damaged concrete wing wall sections, and repairing the slopes at the outlet of the box culvert and the easterly storm-damaged roadway shoulder. Work will include removing the damaged concrete walls from the channel, and constructing two new mechanically stabilized earth (MSE) retaining walls, approximately 40 feet and 14 feet long, to replace the existing damaged concrete wing walls. Approximately 43 cubic yards of rock slope protection will be installed at the outlet of the culvert along the base of the embankments to reduce erosion potential from creek flows. The work also includes installing metal barrier guardrails on both sides of the road, and removing and replacing the existing barbed wire fencing. The purpose of the proposed project is to stabilize the embankment to maintain the existing roadway for public safety and prevent future erosion.
