Document Description
The Alameda County Public Works Agency (County) proposes to install a large underground trash capture device on Via Arriba in the unincorporated community of San Lorenzo, between Via Mirabel and Via Manzanas, in Alameda County, California in an effort to achieve compliance with the 100% trash load reduction deadline by June 30, 2025, as set forth in the County’s current Municipal Regional Stormwater Permit (MRP3) with the San Francisco Regional Water Quality Control Board. This entire large underground trash capture structure (approximately 18 feet long by 25 feet wide) and the trash capture device (approximately 25 feet long by 12 feet wide) will be within County road right-of-way. The underground structure will be in-line with an existing 54-inch diameter reinforced concrete pipe in the underground pipe system. As part of the project improvements, approximately 50 feet of the existing 54-inch diameter reinforced concrete pipe will be replaced by the underground structure footprint, and approximately 50 feet of new 48-inch diameter reinforced concrete pipe bypass and a new manhole will be constructed. Additionally, approximately 110 feet of curb and gutter will be removed and replaced.
