Reasons for Exemption
The proposed project would replace existing publicly owned utilities. The project involves negligible or no expansion of use as there would be no change in the areas served by the water mains being replaced as a result of the project. The increase in water main diameters for the Liddicoat Drive Resiliency and Christopher Lane and Gerth Lane segments allow the abandonment of the main crossing under I-280 while maintaining adequate fire flows to the subdivision. The increase in main size will not directly foster unplanned growth as the neighborhoods in which the mains will be replaced are already built out. The increased main size will assist with efficient movement of water throughout the system and improve fire flows within the community.
