Document Description
The City of Redding (City) will construct a water improvement project in the Athens Avenue and Park Marina Drive area. The project includes the installation of approximately 14,000 linear feet of new water line, a temporary water bypass system, catch basins, and approximately 115 linear feet of storm drain pipe. Existing water services, meters, and hydrants will be replaced or reconnected. Existing valves will be removed, abandoned, or replaced. Work will be conducted within the right of way and within easement areas. The public will be notified of any traffic restrictions.

Reasons for Exemption
Class 1 exemptions include the minor alteration of existing public structures and facilities. Class 2 exemptions consists of replacement or reconstruction where the new structure will be located on the same site and will have substantially the same purpose and capacity. Class 3 exemptions consist of construction and location of new small facilities and equipment, or conversion of existing structures. The existing utilities will be replaced to provide reliable service that meets public health and safety standards. The project will be located in the right of way and the project will result in a negligible expansion of use. The action area does not have significant values for wildlife habitat or other environmental resources and the project has no potential to have a significant effect on the environment.
